If judging resources by real life, Latvia has three high regions - Kurzeme (1st), Latgale (2nd) and Vidzeme (3rd), and Zemgale is a medium forest region, but is has historically been the "bread stove" of the nation, producing high amounts of grain. Also, Latvia and Lithuania share small oil pockets in the Baltic sea, making Kurzeme and the Lithuanian region below it low oil regions. We don't have diamond mines and the iron swamps are to poor to be harvested, so there should not be any of them. by Imauts

Let's compare Finland and Latva: Finland: Land area 305,470 km² Finland: Forests and woodland: 76% _________ Latvia: Land area: 64,588 km² Latvia: Forests and woodland: 46% _________ Why should Latvia get a high wood when even Finland doesn't have one? Hamppari, jeesh, this is not Finnish thread so why don't you keep your lousy, jealous fingers off your keyboard and eat a cookie or something. This is not a thing you can affect. Woods is one of the biggest export industries here in Latvia comparing to other goods. 20% of Latvian export is wood. It was even 35% before half a decade and that by far exceeds steady 4-5% wood export of Finland. I have no doubt that Finland deserves high-wood region as well and I won't ever stand in the way, we just try to take what's ours. And after all, there is nothing preventing your community to make the same suggestion. Ow, and I forgot to mention the site - http://www.intracen.org/appli1/TradeCom/TP_EP_CI.aspx?RP=428&YR=2006 That site covers statistics of years 2002-2006. There you can see other country statistics as well. I compared export share of total exports in the previous post. The value of the wood that's being exported is almost 3 times less than Finlands' as our export is sorta crappy but I must admit that it is pretty crucial for us, very big part of our countries' well-being is in the forest, the main income :) We have stopped living in the trees though and our export share of wood is dropping and is 20% atm as export is getting more diverse.
