technically theyre all republics by metsrdabom
thats a good idea, because the whole world isnt democratic. thats what starts some wars and ends some by Polkadot
Before they could implement alternate forms of government, they'd need to implement the ability to start a resistance war in your own capital to overthrow the existing government. by nicholas2000
Indeed Polkadot. I would like to see resistance wars to overthrow the current government, but also to free a region from its original owner. Government forms I would like to see: -monarchy -dictatorship -oligarchy possibly more... by Polkadot
Nicholas2000, I'd fully support the ability to free a region from it's original owner. However, t here would be two sides to it. 1) Creating a new autonomous nation: That would be a difficult mechanic, as it would allow players to create their own countries. ie. Basque Country revolts to become independent. 2) Allowing regions to defect to the enemy. This mechanic would be a lot simpler to implement. ie. Californians revolt and join Mexico. I'd like both options, but the 2nd option would be the most feasible. then how would somebody be a dictator or king? by Roflolmao
Dictatorship should have to take a week or two to make however and cost gold from the president's pocket(since its likely not supported by the country as a whole), otherwise a president can be elected, and instantly rule. During that time(no impeachments allowed), the possible dictator would have to gain supporters to fight against any rebellions. Not sure what they would do if it goes into another election though, could kinda mess things up. Perhaps, it would simply be overriden on the election day, so a president would have to implement it early. by nicholas2000
1) It would be difficult, but it would make the game far more interesting. It would make nations need to focus on keeping their people happy. 2)I like that idea. they could make it so that when you start a resistance war, you have 3 options: 1-regular resistance 2-change government 3-new country/defect (the starter would choose upon compleation) For option 2, it should be 100 Gold+.25 Gold for ever citizen For option 3, it should be 200 Gold+.25 per citizen in that region. That would make it far more difficult. @Supabeasty#2, I would assume that either the person who led the revolt, or Congress votes on it. by Roflolmao
Monarchy, should possibly be voted in by the public, with lots of control, just a temporary dictator basically. Useful in times of war. i see what you mean then but that would mean a lot of smaller individual modules to let that.
